Day 13

Today I spoke with street vendors and walked around town looking for promising signs of longevity. The vendors either toted the locality of their products (blue-clay soap, fossilized shell necklaces) or explained their travels to India and exotic islands to gather their raw materials. I spoke to one vendor who claims his father is 112-years-old and working in the valley south of Vilcabamba. This man claims to use only plants as medicines, referencing a 1,000-page medical herb book to make concoctions.

The mini mart that sells CocaCola, a myriad of  processed snacks, and apparently, ice cream.
